Whoa... Let's keep this to the point... I personally feel that we should band together to help the Mayor voice our request to improve the utilities here in Bellemeade, if others benefit, good. Let's understand the limitations that the utilities feel they have and empower them to make it better. Set backs happen, but we can push them to get after it, that is just how it works Them leaving a HUGE orange sticky note with the Boil Water notice is ok, along with all the pink little flags along the street. It happened at 3am (the notes left) so I am glad they did not knock or hit the doorbell, I would have come to the door wild eyed and crazy looking. :) I do think there could be a better communications used.... maybe this site? Some kind of texting when emergency happens, or an additionial format of "reach out". I can not make the meeting tonight, but I am sure that the Mayor will take this in and help us get improved service, we win, the city wins.. and the utilities get happy (ier) customers.
Mr. 5%.
Whoa what? What is the point?
Whoa that we should only demand better on just one issue like in this case the what? The sad shape of the utilities that serve" us? We should demand better on everything that falls short of acceptable; otherwise we ar back to government by Special Interest. High expectations yield high results. Low expectations yield low results. Is that not a good point?
Texting? Surely you are kidding. If a large number of our residents do not have email, you seriously expect them to text? Many do not even have cell phones. If some don't have computers, this site would not work either. Maybe that could be a function of Neighborhood Watch to notify residents without technology; even though it is not a criminal problem, it is a danger problem. How about that Mr. Neighborhood Watch Captainman? You agree?
The point is, as the man said, "... when we accept flimsy excuses, ....... we get what we deserve ....." Excuses are easy to come by; results are much more difficult.
Why do you suppose we are on the verge of slipping into second rate power status? Maybe, lack of accountability? Not even maybe!
I doesn't cost much more to go first-class folks.
