OK, OK! I had stopped posting because it seemed that Larry was so something, cavalier, arrogant, short-sighted, hard-headed, to hear what more than one resident of this small city were saying. Seemingly, he was going to do things his way or no way. I bet he is well versed on all kinds of topics now that he has looked into so many of them. He was a pretty good mayor at first when he didn't know anything. But now that he has gained a bit of knowledge, he knows EVERYTHING> and everyone else knows nothing.
It hs been so very disappointing that he or someone on the City Commission has not displayed enough leadership to even attempt to fix a major speeding problem. It has been kinda like don't feed it and maybe it will go away He copped out by saying that some residents questioned spending tax money for speed bumps. Hogwash!! You gotta do what you gotta do! Lots of people questioned, and still do, spending tax money for trees to be planted on private property, but our City Commission does it anyhow and Larry crows about it like a rooster.
Stop signs! Stop signs? You ARE kidding me? If we can't get police presence to enforce the speed limit or patrol the area. who shall we count on to ticket those who will run the stop signs? Wonder how many people will get rear-ended at those stop signs? It appears that Bellemeade and the other little cities are somewhat in the same position of a redheaded stepchild.
It appears that our city government can't, or won't, take care of the major things and to have a degree of success they can point to, they plant trees and say, "Oh, how beautiful our Tree City is!" Yes, I even rememer one hair-brained project proffered by someone to require uniformity of mailboxes. And the fiasco of someone warning people to not park on the grass.
We need Law Enforcement starting with citing speeders. Since that can not be done on a twenty four hour daily basis, make it difficult for them to speed. How? Oh come on, can you spell "S P E E D H U M P?" On the flip side, try spelling degredation if we don't start dealing with the obvious defiances of the law such as 25MPH. A tiny cavity results in the loss of a tooth and even heart disease if not treated.
