Having fun? My civics teacher first said it; then several college and law professors said it; and i believe it. Bad government happens when good people do not get involved. Or, maybe more appropriate in my case, the mice will play when the cat's away.
Speaking of the tree committee, what is your take on spending tax money on private property during an economic situation that sees cuts in services, cuts in jobs, cuts in pay, and increases in prices (especially gas). I just question the wisdom of continuing the apparent wasteful practices of the Beautification Committee. They appear to NOT manage money well at all. |

We helped with the petition in 2008 (in a deep snow). So many people were against the Tree Ordinance that we were surprised that it was passed anyway. What good is another one? I think they will get what they want. We will sign another one if it comes to our door. |

I am even more surprised that the ordinance is still on the books. And while I am on the anti-beautification committee subject, I must do a 180 and commend Mr. Ron Ellingsworth for the beautiful job he is doing on the entrances for half of what the Beautification Committee was paying someone else for the past three years. He is underpaid at that.
