The season is upon us! We will be looking at the lives of the Pilgrims and Native Americans. We will look at their homes and compare and contrast. We will look at the items that the children/Pilgrims brought with them and think about what we have. The students will be making a cornucopia for their homes to hang up and welcome guests. If you have time to help, we will be doing this on Friday, after lunch.
The children will look at the Native Americans of the Wampanaog Tribe, this is the tribe that helped the pilgrims survive and with whom they shared the first Thanksgiving. We will create a game that teaches about the Pilgrims voyage, and the students will get to bring this home to play with their families. We will also look at making a ?‘trail mix?’ like the Indians used while they traveled or hunted. We will have a sharing breakfast on the 27th at 8:30 with K, more information will be coming along with a sign up sheet. I have also purchased a Scholastic Thanksgiving video that we will share.
About class work. As of this week I will be giving late grades for papers not done on time. Please encourage your child to do their personal best. Plenty of time is giving to complete everything.
