BELD E-mail Problem

Posted in: Braintree
Dear Mitzie

Customer base doesn't set prices. Competion does. If BELD goes out of the cable business and internet service, then Comcast gets it all. Then they can charge whatever they want for service because you will not have somewhere else to go for that same service. You can always get the dish but that has draw backs too. Watch what Comcast does with some of it's business practices and then ask yourself what's their motive? I think you'll figure out that their motive is to put BELD under in the cable and internet business, thus leaving them with no competion. No competion=higher prices. They can talk all they want but Comcast has over 25 million customers in the US and I would dare say that the customers in Braintree are not at the top of their priority list. If BELD goes then the Braintree customers will really end up on the short end of the stick.

Dear Monty,

You're absolutely right. Spam is a huge problem. Infact it was mentioned on the radio within the last couple of days that advertising is going to start showing up on, yup you guessed it, your cell phones. So spam has entered the cell phone domain. It doesn't seem to be getting better. It's getting worse. So if you have a cell phone, be prepared for whats coming.

Spreading Out

Maybe BELD might be able to spread out into adjacent towns of Weymouth, Holbrook, Randolph, Quincy etc.

What can stop BELD from offering their broadband business out of town ?
Are there any restrictions ?
But they want it...

all at once. They want big salaries and
big bonuses and NEW endeavors just don't begin that way. Companies starting out put the profit back into the product. Internet is new to BELD and as such they should concentrate on being competitive. I think they did offer the service in Weymouth; it would be great if they could expand to local communities. It certainly would take the pressure of townies to fund what is yet, a product in the making. I hear you about our problems if Comcast has no competition, but Comcast does have a good product, they are very helpful, and they are shrewd business people. I have used them and I know what some of you say about them just isn't true. BELD decided for the town that we would take on a $3mil.bond and get into the internet business, fine it is done. Now we have to support them or we are all behind the eightball. But BELD should be making some concessions too, and part of that picture is them putting our monies back into the product and offering us varying plans as if they worked for us instead of acting as though they were just another for profit company.
