Why do people rip the Fire Department. Probably a couple of reasons. One they are jealous and two they wish they had the job. Those who wish they were something or someone complain about it the most.

Should Have Expected...

Lt. Cox, give it a rest down there in West Virginia. Just because fire service back in your days is the same these days doesn't mean it should be that way tomorrow. There is strong reason for change. Why can't we find productive work for our paid employees to perform at night between calls on the apparatus instead of sleeping in the barracks? No jealousy intended and I wouldn't want the boring job, but comparing police with fire, give me something to do when I'm at work.

They do do something

Hey Papi, you forgot, they do do something in addition to going to the rare fire. They go to medical calls during the daylight hours. After dark, or bedtime, they only go if they think there needed. The fire business started going to these calls because someone realized there were no fires and that taxpayers would recognize that they could go to call fire departments.
