Deputy Reply Misleading

Dear Ret. Lt. C. Cox: With sincere due respects to you as a former firefighter until your unexpected and career ending on the job injury, you retired as a Lt. because you were injured and could not continue in your profession. Had you, please answer whether you would have expected to have retired as a Deputy or not? You say ''quite a few'' have retired at less than Deputy. I would counter by asking you to list ten firefighters over the past ten years who retired (without disability or death) at less than Deputy status within the Braintree Fire Department? Name me ten?
Don't accuse me of reading this or that ''tid bit, but know nothing about'' for I do know far more than you give me credit for and not because of ''what I read''. I'm a great deal closer to the ''scene'' than you grant me credit for.

AS FAR AS EXAMS GO, WHY DO YOU FEEL THAT 20 YEARS EXPERIENCE IS NOT WORTHY OF A PROMOTION, BUT 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE AND A 90 ON A TEST IS? MY GUESS IS THAT YOU ARE EITHER A COP OR A WANNABE WHO IS TOO FRIGGIN STUPID TO PASS A TEST OR TOO FAT TO PASS A PHYSICAL. Braintree Pride

Who told you that the Braintree Fire Department is among the best in the state? Where did you get your information? There aren't too many reputable professions that advance their employers without an exam, a degree, or a combination of both. I am not impressed with your titles ie: Chief-Deputy Chief-Lieutenant. Meaningless. However you got your title, you are well compensated for the amount of work you put into attaining it. Quit strutting around, get off your high horse, and be glad you are employed. Stop putting down Volunteer Fire Fighters. They are as qualified as you are. Just to make you even more tense, the town of Braintree should institute a residency requirement with no grandfather clause. Braintree Pride.

These titles might be meaningless to you. Because you're NOT a firefighter.
You are just a wannabe and always will be.
