Changes In Town Hall

Posted in: Braintree
Our town manager changes upcoming will have a tremendous impact on the future governance of our community. Our Executive Secretary is leaving at the end of March. Rumored as candidate employees who might be sought to fill that seat during the town's interim wait on the town manager work study are planning director Peter Lapolla; Building Inspector Russ Forsberg; Parks Director Bill Hedlund;administrative coordinator/Weymouth Town Council member (and former mayor candidate) Sue Kay; Finance Director Eric Kinsherf and even Retirement Director Jeanne Martineau. Our Selectmen are contemplating the strengths and weaknesses, but word on the street is that their own employee, Sue Kay, with three years municipal work experience, no college degree and plenty of political maneuvering is the odds on favored to get the $30,000 or $40,000 pay raise to manage the Selectmen's weekly agenda. Time will tell!
Second, our Personnel Director who came to Braintree government from New England Telephone with no prior municipal experience is leaving for retirement in early April. Applications are underway and word has it that there are a few in-house wannabes for this seventy grand seat. Our Personnel Board will be watched closely as their decision will have huge impacts on the quality of people attracted to Braintree in the future. Outgoing director who served on numerous 'head hunting search committees' brought us Hector, Ackerman, Flynn, Kinsherf and numerous lower level slots that were filled. Look at the process that will get underway to find this gem replacement. Actually, we could probably eliminate this position, save seventy grand and let our executive secretary conduct head searches when the times arise. Guess that idea is too good to be true. All one has to do is view the budget growth of the Personnel department over the past decade and you'd be shocked that theirs exceeds every other department percentage wise over that span. Paper pushers at runaway costs to our town.

Personnel Candidates?

Heard at coffee shop this morning that former Selectman Leland Dingee is a candidate for the Personnel Director's job. In addition, the secretary in the Personnel Department has been circulating a petition with co-workers in an attempt to gain a favorable view of her candidacy despite she lacking the requisite degree or managerial expertise. Hey, that didn't stop Tom Reynolds getting a job, so stay tuned. Common denominator of these latest personnel machinations in town -our inept political clunkers called Selectmen. Mother Hubbard's son who is a former Personnel Board member is maneuvering behind the scenes for the local candidate as a trade off with his colleagues on the executive director's appointment. Guess who is King Maneuverer of this all? One Darrin Doofus Derwood McAuliffe, the one gent who already maneuvered the appointment recently of Tom Reynolds, his former BELD board colleague. See how this gameplan is developing?

Executive Secretary Congrats..

Did you hear our Selectmen extolling favorable commendatory comments at Mrs. Ackerman last Monday night? It's a plan conceived by Chuck Kokoros to get rid of this lady and in succeeding, we'll give her a fine laudatory send off just to get rid of her. Wasn't it Selectman Dingee who was quoted as saying ''she's doing a fantastic job'' when he was on the board? Folks, it is all about control and our Selectmen dating back to the Carl Vitaglilano board of selectmen when they hired their lackie Bill Sweeney and then hector the head hunter under former Gillette current Quinn Bill proponent Jim Casey and then on to Casey Board replaced by Shaw Board who annointed Harvard Grad bag lady Ackerman to the job. She's never once been required to give weekly update reports in writing to her board, never once been challenged as the town's procurement officer to get certified by the state as her job description mandates, but instead she was getting ninety five grand to develop a meeting agenda and kill about twenty trees each week to copy documents so she wouldn't be exposed to questions at the meetings she attended. She was a fraud in this job and our Selectmen were and still are frauds extolling virtues of her ineptness in this job until they hire their latest version of an agenda clerk collaborator. Egan wants to appoint.....Kokoros wants to appoint....but McAuliffe, Ryan and Hubbard will prevail with this latest assignment promotion. Stay close to your tv to watch this scenerio play out in the next week or two.
