There is a quiet movement on in this city, on rooftops, fire escapes, window ledges. It?’s a blow against the cover of concrete, whole blocks with no trees, bedrooms with no windows. It is found in small signs which point to life.

Simple acts comprise this movement. Simple like a planter of basil on the window sill.

Forget their complexity. Like steady flowing water, life finds ways to crack the concrete.

This project is centered around the documentation of small urban gardens and how they fit into the life of the practical city dweller. The goal is to open these cells to each other, and to the city they feed. If you are part of the movement, write us at thegreenvein@gmail.com with the scale and details of your garden and how we can reach you.
