The 5-A-Day for Better Health Program is a national effort to achieve the Healthy People 2000 objective for increasing the per capita consumption to five or more servings of fruits and vegetables daily.

ACES: Active Community Environments Initiative

A CDC-sponsored* initiative to promote walking, bicycling, and the development of accessible recreation facilities.

IMMPaCt, International Micronutrient Malnutrition Prevention and Control Program

The IMMPaCt Program is a global effort to eliminate micronutrient malnutrition. IMMPaCt is committed to aid nations in establishing micronutrient interventions, and building surveillance systems to monitor the impact of these projects.

KidsWalk-to-School

CDC has developed KidsWalk-to-School, a guide that encourages individuals and organizations to work together to identify and create safe walking routes to school.

National Bone Health Campaign

Powerful Bones. Powerful Girls.TM Educates and encourages girls aged 9 to 12 years to establish lifelong, healthy habits that build and maintain strong bones.

Obesity and Overweight State Programs

CDC's State-based Nutrition and Physical Activity Program to support state health departments and their partners in developing and implementing targeted nutrition and physical activity interventions in an effort to prevent chronic diseases, especially obesity.

Well-Integrated Screening and Evaluation for Women Across the Nation (WISEWOMAN)

Through the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program framework, WISEWOMAN provides screening for cardiovascular and other chronic disease risk factors and offers lifestyle intervention programs to address these risk factors for uninsured and low-income women aged 40 to 64 years.
