Brookwood Hills I
Brookwood Hills I Homeowners Association was founded in 1983. The purpose of BHHOA is to maintain the value and beauty of our development. Dues are spent only for that purpose. A side light of the association is the social activities. It was decided early on that no dues would be used for social activities.
Dues have remained at under $100 per year since the inception. Annual dues are billed and paid in May. Each year, in May, the members of the Association elect a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Board of Directors. Volunteers are selected for various committees.
Today there are 126 homes in Brookwood Hills I. The Association also coordinates enforcement of the deed covenants, conditions and restrictions.
There are volunteer opportunities for residents to serve as officers, and directors as well as the Welcome, Social and other committees for promoting good will and a friendly community
Our neighborhood is great because of the participation by many loyal homeowners. We encourage all to become involved to know your neighbors and to maintain a high level of community spirit that we all enjoy.
Brookwood Hills History
Trammel Crow acquired the property now known at Brookwood Hills I & II during the 1970’s. Development of Brookwood Hills I started in 1979 with the clearing of land and installation of infrastructure, including the streets. Approximately 120 lots were set aside for building. Several houses were started with the first few homes completed during 1980-1981. There was a recession during that period, so building was curtailed. Starting in 1982 additional builders came to area and houses started to sprout up very quickly. By the end of 1983, almost 100 homes had been built. At this time Brookwood Hills II started its development.
It is reported that the area known as Brookwood Hills I was part of a nursery. If you look at the backyards of the houses between Brookside Drive and Laurel Lane, you will see where the “tree farm” resided.
