The large junk day will be May 11, 2009.  It will be the Monday after the city wide yard sale scheduled for Saturday, May 9,  2009.

You can sign up for the yard sale at http://www.woodlawnparkhomes.com

How can we find out what we can put out for this junk day? I have old cabinets and drywall etc I'd love to have taken away.

I can't seem to find the most recent list of acceptable items, but the items below are for another small city within Jefferson County using our waste hauler, so it should be close.

Concrete, tires, auto fluids, propane tanks, liquid paints, thinners, pesticides, chemicals, medical- no biohazard needles, oxygen tanks, empty card board boxes must be broken down, Freon must be removed for refrigeration units & tagged by licensed technician, bar-b-ques and lawn mowers must be broken down with no combustibles attached, swing sets and basketball goals must be cut into 3ft. sections, absolutely no demolition construction material (bathtubs, drywall etc.) all tree limbs and branches must be stacked no longer than four feet and bundled with rope.

This may not be all inclusive, but appears to cover most of what I remember about our pick up.
