Attempted Burglary on Tyne Trail today!!!

Posted in: River Trails

I notice FT Worth PD patrolling the neighborhood fairly frequently. At least 4 or 5 times a week.  Since I'm not camped out in my front yard, I figure I'm only seeing a small percentage of the time they're actually spending in the neighborhood.

Obviously, they can't be everywhere all the time but the one time I did call them to report suspicious activity at a neighbors home during the day, two squad cars showed up in less than 5 minutes.

The police dept has definitely got their hands full and I feel we're lucky to get the amount of support that we do.

Get a dog, get an alarm, lock your gate(s), make sure you have adequate outdoor lighting and it's all working, communicate with your neighbor, don't let newspapers and pizza flyers pile up, put your trash cans away, etc.

Got a cell phone with a camera?  See a vehicle you've never seen before parked on the street?  Take a picture of it, including the license plate.  I do.

I tend to agree with you White Lightening... I've had to call the police 2 different times very late at night because our neighbors decided to party it up in their backyard and were being incredibly loud and both times the police showed up in a matter of minutes. Of course like I said it was really late at night so i'm sure they couldnt have been that busy but none the less they arrived quickly and got it taken care of. I normally wouldnt mind people partying loud but having a baby whos room is close to the backyard , if they would have woken him up I would have had to take care of it myself and that wouldnt have been so pretty  Wink

Another suspicious guy we saw, he was riding his bike with a large backpack on a cloudy cold day.....not the typical good day to be out for an afternoon ride.....my husband got in the car to see what he was up to.....lost him a bit found him ....he ditched his bike and was walking back in the woods....he called the police to come out but lost the guy in the woods since he was now on foot.  If someone looks suspicious .....make an extra trip to see what they are doing.  Backpacks are great for loading up Playstations and laptops then getting out of the neighorhood.  He was older so it wasn't some kid coming home from school...plus it was 1:00 in the afternoon when most kids are at school.

whitelightning - that is the most intelligible post I've seen regarding the burglaries.  My sentiments exactly.  Thanks.  I'm sure if everyone looks out for each other and people keep getting on the FWPD about it, they will eventually get caught or seek a different area
