Backed up drain lines in a high-rise building can damage property and cause great inconvenience to residents. To prevent this, Association engineers clean the kitchen drain lines twice a year. Preventative maintenance measures help keep drains cleared.
Residents can also prevent back-ups. Please use the following guidelines: run the water for a minute after using the disposal, do not rinse grease down your drain, and do not put vegetable and fruit peels, skins or rinds down the disposal. Also, if you are not sure of putting something down the drain or through the disposal, please dispose of it in the trash.
