1) What our neighborhood is today let no association put asunder. The point being there will not be any ill will between us. This is a voluntary association and it's our own money. It's an experiment and no amount of savings is worth bad feelings between neighbors. LIGHTEN UP AND HAVE FUN!
2) Noone in the association should think poorly of anyone who chooses not to participate. Any questions see bylaw #1.
3) Ours is a not for profit association and website. Neighbors shall not financially gain from referrals of vendors or service providers other than the savings we enjoy as a group from the agreement. All members should follow the rules of Neighborhoodlink.com. We're not in this to make money, we're in it to save money.
4) All agreements are binding. If a member agrees to get in on using a particular service provider he/she should stand by it. Backing out after coming to an agreement may effect the rates that have been negotiated with the other members involved and could cause ill will.
5) No squabbling on the discussion page. This page is intended as a communication vehicle, not a place to air your issues. If you have a problem, be an adult about it and pick up the phone, but always remember bylaw #1!
6) It's OK to recommend friends and relatives as a vendor or service provider. Just remember that you're putting your name to it so make sure you think it out. In other words, if your brother-in-law fleeces everybody, you're not going to be a very popular neighbor! Also remember bylaw #3. If you're getting a kickback you're not playing by the rules.
7) This is a team effort. All members are expected and encouraged to participate and help in this process. Members will be asked to provide needed information on pricing for service providers that will allow us to succeed as a group. The members will work together to obtain quotes, estimates and pricing. If you don't want to put any effort into it why should you be able to take advantage of it?
8) The association coordinators will be responsible for maintaining the information on this website and reserve the right to deny access to anyone or remove existing access for violations of the association bylaws or the rules of Neighborhoodlink.com.
9) Members enjoy group savings and encourage other neighbors to participate in the association. All immediate neighbors of Calypso Lane have the option to participate. Potential members outside the immediate neighborhood must be approved by a majority of the association in order to participate. Members should consider that many vendors/service suppliers will take into account geographic factors when determining group rates. Individuals outside the association may take advantage of the negotiated rates of the association provided it benefits the members of the association.
10) Problems with vendors or service providers should be brought to the attention of the group. We expect our association to be provided with good services from reputable vendors. If there is an issue, we should all be made aware. If the problem is serious enough, the members involved may wish to seek alternative vendors or try as a group to get the situation resolved. Keep in mind that most vendors will be much more hesitant to lose a bunch of customers than just one customer. If you mess with one of us, you mess with all of us!
