The Capitol Hill Neighborhood, though one of the oldest in Juneau, is the most recently organized. We've usually been associated with the Chicken Ridge neighborhood up the hill, but recent connections between residents living on and near Main Street have helped us create our own identity.
The Capitol Hill Neighborhood, as it is currently defined, includes many owner-occupied homes, some that have been divided over the years to house rental units. The neighborhood also has a bed and breakfast, a few small professional offices, two Legislative office buildings, a church, a large park and a pocket park, the City Museum, a child development center and a neighborhood grocery store. Oh yes, and the Alaska State Capitol Building.
This website is offered as a Capitol Hill Neighborhood "Center" where residents and other occupants can meet, communicate, and organize around common goals, projects, and neighborhood events.
