Accessory Buildings at Residences:

Accessory buildings that are less than 120 square feet do not need a building permit to be erected. However, they must be placed in the rear one-half of the rear yard and not be within 6 feet of any other structure other than a fence. If the accessory structure is taller than 6 feet in height it must be set back from the property line by at least 3 feet. For each additional foot over 6 feet , 1 foot of setback must be added to the min. 3 feet.
