Formed in 1809, Child and Family Agency of SE CT has become the largest nonprofit children's service provider in southestern Connecticut. Programs deal with child abuse, family violence, teen pregnancy, intensive family preservation, parenting, infant and child care and school-based health centers.
Child and Family's auxiliaries are a diverse group of men and women who are vitally interested in the welfare of children and their families. We are a bright, hardworking, creative group with energy and a ''can do'' attitude. We each have our own personal stories of the Agency's unique place in our hearts. That's a wonderful fact about Child and Family: we join for the springboard to community involvement. Then we find not only civic engagement but friends, relationships and experiences that remain meaningful throughout our lives.
Membership in the Auxiliary is open to anyone who is interested in supporting the work of Child and Family Agency.
In 2001, over 10,000 children were served in 27 towns in Middlesex and new London counties, the Child and Family service region. Child and Family has 141 staff - social workers, teachers, psychologists, nurse practitioners, administrators and support staff - dedicated to helping children at 26 service centers.
A nonprofit agency, program funding comes from private, state, United Way and federal sources.
