Chinatown in Chicago is the US's third largest Chinese neighborhood. Starting in 1878 when T.C. Moy settled here and began telling friends and family that this was a more friendly place than California, Chinese immigrants began settling here in ernest. Many began business and you will still see evidence of that as you walk the streets. It wasn't until 1999 when Ping Tom Park was built that residents had a green space to call their own like the rest of Chicago neighborhoods.
