What is Time Dollars?

Time Dollars are a special tax-exempt form of ?“money?” that anyone can earn using time, energy, skills, and talents to help others. One hour of service provided to another human being or to the community earns one Time Dollar.The Time Dollars you earn helping others can be used to receive services or help from someone else. When you spend your Time Dollars, someone else earns them. They can be saved up for a rainy day. They can be given to someone else, a family member, friend, or neighbor who needs help or they can be donated to strangers or others in need.

How does the Time Dollar work

Time Dollar programs use special ?“Timekeeper?” software to keep a computer-based list of all the Time Dollar members. It lists the services those members are offering to other members and the times when they can do them. The Time Dollar administrator uses this program, along with personal knowledge of the members, to match requests for service with the services being offered at the time they are offered.Everyone benefits! You will not only help others, you will also help to build a network of friends and resources.

Everyone has something to give. Everyone can earn Time Dollars. Everyone can help to create the world in which we all want to live.
