Did you know a board member, the one who doesn't live here and is a developer, is negotiating with a storage facility by the water tower near Slaughter & 1826? Do you want this in your neighborhood? What a view for the people in Circle C North!
Look at my post 6/26 here comes

I posted this on June 26th to inform all you. Here comes the mini storage.

Sounds liike a Big Box

I remember discussing this very idea at the CCHOA Special meeting in 2002 about the settlement. I thought that the storage business was excluded already!? The water tower area already looks unkept as it is. I can't imagine anything else with a fence around it.

I guess it might fit in if it was designed very carefully (stucco or stone walls and dark roofs). They wouldn't able to do out door storage (boats and trailers). There is one on Hwy 290 and another on Bee Caves the seem to fit in pretty well over there.

details please

What is your source? You don't have to name names, but how did you hear this? Is it a done deal?

Why didn't you name the board member?

Is this an illegal or unethical activity for a CCHOA BOD?

How big a storage facility? Is it multi-level?

Given that developers are going to want to develop, what would you rather have built there?

Please don't take these questions as an attack on your post, or a defense of the developer/BOD. This is a discussion board - people post things, others discuss and share opinions.

My gut reaction is that a storage facility doesn't sound like a very desirable neighbor, but I can't really offer much of an arguement why. And as opposed to a Wal-Mart, it is not open 24/7, and will not generate a lot of traffic. Don't know about being environment friendly.
