YES
There has been many cases of Oak Wilt in CCR. One for sure is over on Gorham Glen in the greenbelt area. Actually it's the land behind Jim O'Reilly's house. (nothing to do w/ him) just for point of reference. I know for a fact because I know someone who lives there who said that a few trees had it and died and this just happened withing the last 6mths to yr! You might want to contact City of Austin, they have an oak wilt person to speak with. Why do you ask? Are your trees sick? If they are it is important because it can spead quickly to others oaks and once they get it usually they die. |

Great Question!
This site was supposed to function as a question and answer site so folks could get answers to questions they have. That was my understanding. Instead the know-it-all's and site coordinators are using it as a bash Circle C Board site. When I signed up for this site I was definitely lead down a different path than the one I ended up on. Anyway, to answer your question, yes, there have been several confirmed cases of Oak Wilt in Circle C. One way to try to spare your trees is to only trim your oak trees in the hottest days of the summer or in the coldest days of the winter. You also should spray each cut with a wound healer. You should also clean, with bleach, the instrument you are using to trim the trees after each cut made so you do not transfer the disease between cuts. If you are not doing the trimming yourself, make sure the person(s) know what to do and are doing it. |

Your ''Understanding''
I began this site about a year ago. At the time, for the first many months I thought the issues here in Circle C were just communication problems. That's why I started the site. I, as well as many other neighbors realized that the problems were much deeper than just communication issues. I find it interesting that a person that won't even share a name, says they had a different ''understanding'' of what this FREE website was going to be. I had a different understanding of what our HOA and neighborhood was supposed to be. That costs real money. Do you see the difference? Why is your character so frail as to speak up when something is wrong with your community? Why are you afraid of others speaking up? Where is your Backbone? Does sticking your head in the sand and wishing the bad away make you feel better inside? Are you aware that when the site started to question the BOD in a nice way, the CCHOA BOD then threatened to sue me. They produced a signed resolution. They sent the resolution to the FCC (so they said). We live in the United States and the CCHOA is our company, funded with our money. How can you be such a coward? |
