TRAFFIC PATTERN CHANGES AS PART OF KY 22 WIDENING PROJECT
Chamberlain Lane to be closed for two weeks
Louisville, KY (July 5, 2012) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 5 Office announces temporary closure of Chamberlain Lane as part of the New Chamberlain Lane construction and the widening of KY 22 in Jefferson County. Chamberlain Lane will be closed to through traffic between Shenandoah Drive and White Pine Way to allow for realignment of the intersection at New Chamberlain Lane. Local access will be allowed. The roadway is scheduled to close at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, July 6th and will be closed for approximately two weeks.
With Chamberlain Lane closed, motorists will have access to KY 22 via New Chamberlain Lane. This new section of roadway, which extends from Shenandoah Drive to KY 22, will be opened to traffic on Friday, July 6th.
Construction continues at the intersection of KY 22, KY 1694 and New Chamberlain Lane. Roadway improvements at this location are expected to continue through the end of July. The following restrictions will be in place during this work:
· Motorists traveling south on KY 1694 must turn left or right onto KY 22. Alignment of the lanes from southbound KY 1694 to New Chamberlain Lane is not complete yet.
· Motorists traveling west on KY 22 are prohibited from turning left onto New Chamberlain Lane until construction of the left turn lane is completed.
