American Cancer Society Colleges Against Cancer is a nationwide collaboration of college students, faculty, staff, and community leaders dedicated to eliminating cancer by initiating and supporting programs of the American Cancer Society in college communities.
Advocacy
Colleges Against Cancer at UCLA will adapt American Cancer Society advocacy initiatives to the college environment, promote them on campus and in the community, and help coordinate nationwide advocacy efforts.
Mission Delivery
Colleges Against Cancer will spread the word on college campuses and the community about cancer prevention, early detection, and healthy lifestyles.
Survivorship
Students in Colleges Against Cancer will get involved with cancer patients and survivors on a local level, helping to increase access to programs that can improve the quality of life, such as support services and community events.
Relay offers everyone an opportunity to partipate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people camp out at a local college, university, high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to raise contributions to support the Society's mission to fight cancer, and to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Relays are an overnight event up to 24 hours in length.
Colleges Against Cancer at UCLA will work to encourage involvement in Relay for Life and establish new collegiate Relay for Life events.
