History
The Colonial Hills Civic Association was founded in 1946 and officially incorporated in 1952. Over the years, the association, through the Council of Trustees, has served the Hills area on civic issues through representation to the Worthington City Council and working with city government. The association has developed most of the physical improvements at Selby and Indianola Parks and, in past years, has provided one of the most extensive Independence Day Celebrations in Worthington. Many community henefits, now sponsored by the city, were originated by the Colonial Hills Civic Association.

Operation
The Civic Association is composed of 38 district trustees and a slate of officers. Each district trustee represents an average of 18-25 neighbors. Trustees serve for two years or longer. Interested residents may become at-large trustees. Membership dues are $10 per family and $5 for senior citizens. Membership dues and the 4th of July Celebration provide the source of income from which community projects are developed. Monthly meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month, at 7:15 p.m. at the Selby Park Shelter House. All residents are welcome.

Functions
* To promote the general welfare of Colonial Hills and its residents. This function is accomplished by giving special attention to public improvements and safety, encouraging activities to benefit residents, and creating unity among our members at the district and community levels.

* To conduct monthly meetings in order to review duties and goals as directed by the Council of Trustees and to act upon resolutions that may come before such meetings.

* To encourage participation of all members to achieve a better community.
