It seems to arrive a bit late but we seem to be in trauma at a drop of snow...No we can't go to school, work, or do anything but use the bread and milk we rushed out to buy...

What happened to the New England hardy folks? Is this the RI Independent Man or Woman of the 2009.....to go back into the burrows?

Have you gone about your normal business, but just with some extra defense or hunkered down?

Looks like most have been doing the norm except for schools and a few other misc operations and the roads are well done...but the ice and rain tonite and tomorrow???

Well, it sure seems the kids could have gone to school today, but maybe they like going in the summer time to make up for this. Roads were pretty decent and they were pretty fair traveling coming home from work.

The original prognosticator of Spring was NOT Wiarton Willie from Ontario or Punxsutawney Phil in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania or even their ancestors. In fact, the celebration of Groundhog Day in early February began over 2000 years ago when the Romans would look to see if the hedgehog saw its shadow under a clear moon at night. The good old USA didn't have any hedgehogs, so the groundhog was quickly substituted.

So stay tuned for Feb 2nd with a hedgehog/////maybe from RW Park Zoo or your own hedgehog.....
