Dear friends,

According to the Thursday 2/26 article in the Pawtucket Times, 12 Rhode Island School of Design students and two professors will be working in downtown Pawtucket.  The money for this classroom urban history design and improvement project will be coming from the Pawtucket Foundation.  The Times writer forgot to ask a few questions:  Is RISD using any empty storefronts?  How long will the RISD students be in the city?  If the project works, will RISD expand into the city?

By the way, new gift wrapping has been placed on the window at the former Cup & Saucer restaurant on Main Street.  What will be going into the former restaurant, that has been closed since 2007?

Thanks,

Jim

I am sure this is just a project for RISD students, but maybe we will have the homeless living behind the wrapping paper at the Cup and Saucer

I think that is true of a project on how to redesign the city, but not to move in...not sure of the Cup and Saucer bit, but maybe now a residence or perhaps an artist and his studio.

Apparently a new restaurant may be going into the Cup & Saucer.  It is as simple as that. This was according to someone who should know about all the doings in downtown Pawtucket
