December 16, 2000 Meeting

The Colorado Support Group of the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association (TNA) will meet Saturday, December 16, 2000, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the St. Anthony Hospital Central, 4231 West 16th Avenue, Denver, CO 80204.

The purpose of the meeting is to hold an Open discussion on Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN)questions with a Christmas theme. Come share your experiences with other TN patients and healthcare professionals.
We'll also have a report from the October 25-29 '00 National TNA Convention.

We have invited several healthcare professionals to join us too.

Our goal is to enable the patient to make informed decisions based on knowledge which will provide better options and outcomes. Please advise anyone you may know who has TN (or their friends, family, or healthcare professionals) so they can attend this meeting.

Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) Patients, family members and friends are invited to attend our December 16th, 2000 quarterly meeting and Christmas Social.

The Saturday, December 16th, 2000 Colorado TNA Support Group meeting, from 1 to 4 PM, will be hosted by the Rocky Mountain Gamma Knife Center at St. Anthony Hospital Central, 4231 West 16th Avenue, Denver, Colorado. The hospital is located two blocks north of West Colfax on Quitman. There is excellent parking available (Parking Lot 4). The meeting will be in The Birch Room; a cozy basement conference room - look for our TNA signs just to the right of the hospital entrance, pointing towards steps leading down to The Birch Room. We'll have plenty of refreshments and ''Bring your Favorite Dish'' if you'd like. Please RSVP. Our proposed agenda is:

Our goal is to support Trigeminal Neuralgia Patients, their families, friends, and healthcare providers and we will strive to maintain the Support Group, hold meetings, send out information, fund needy patients, and raise funds to continue these activities.

One of our activities is to work with the Dental Community to increase awareness of Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN). We try and attend Dental meetings and make presentations. If you know of Dental meetings, please let us know. Enclosed in this envelope are two Colorado TNA Support Group Business Cards. Please keep one for your personal use and the other one is for your dentist; ask your dentist to refer TN patients to our Support Group Staff. Also, we'd like to know about Community Health Fairs in your area.

Past Events:
- The September 30th meeting in Colorado Springs was fantastic; there were 40 attendees who enjoyed 4 + hours at the Penrose House Conference Center. Special thanks go to Dr. Michael Henry, DDS, Ph.D. and Dr. Adair Prall, Neurosurgeon. Dr. Henry presented the Etiology and Dental Implications of Trigeminal Neuralgia and Dr. Prall's presentation detailed the Surgical Treatments available to TN patients. We can't thank these men enough for driving down from Denver, and spending almost five hours with us, on a Saturday. A video tape of the meeting is available; just contact one of the Support Group staff members listed on the other side and we'll send it to you.

- Three Support Group members, Dr. Adair Prall, Jane Uitti, and Vince Nelson, attended the 3rd National Trigeminal Neuralgia Association (TNA) Convention, in Pittsburgh, October 25th - 29th. It was fantastic to have 100 healthcare professionals meet with 200 TN patients for four days; it is a unique convention, with attendance from around the world. You'll hear more about the Convention at the December 16th meeting. Dr. Prall, Jane and Vince, are pictured above in their Colorado Trigeminal Neuralgia Association Polo Shirts. January 18-20, 2001: Denver Midwinter Dental Conference at the Colorado Convention Center; we need volunteers to help tell 9,000 Dentists about TN.
