About Our Club

Commerce City Citizens for Recycling

Recycling

Recycling becomes part of city's free trash pickup...

What was once wishful thinking is now a reality in Commerce City - curbside recycling. Providing a recycling program is just another step in City Council's efforts to make the community 'more green' and responsive to the environment and meet the expectations of residents.

''Residents have been asking for recycling, a local community organization has requested it, the council made it a priority - an now we have it,'' Mayor Paul Natale said. ''And more importantly, recycling is the right thing to do. We wanted, and needed, to make it available to our residents.''

CCCR is grateful to the city for introducing this program and we are grateful to the citizens of our committee and those in the community who signed our petition! Way to go!!!

Can Tabs Program Completed!

In 2006 our group decided to collect a million can tabs with kids in the community. Our goal was to teach them and get them thinking about recycling. We are thrilled to report that after three long years we have reached one million can tabs! Through the efforts of our kids and the community we can finally see what one million of something actually looks like! Keep in mind that kids in our community collected the mass majority of these tabs!
