Working Outside the Block, putting community first!
The Concerned Citizens of Laurelton (CCOL) is the largest Civic association in Laurelton Queens. We were founded solely because of our hard work and dedication from all our members to get information out and work with the community on all issues of great importance. CCOL works with all necessary conduits in and out of the community so that we can maintain the beauty and quality of life for all Laureltonites. The Concerned Citizens of Laurelton have a rich history of activism and accomplishments such as:
Reducing the number of group homes in Laurelton
Getting rid of the proposed 24 hour laundromat at the old Zuckerman's location.
Working with several business owners to help plan and restructure the facade of many businesses on Merrick Boulevard.
By stopping Mac Mansions and the over development of Laurelton.
The rezoning of Laurelton (which was a 7 year process).
The Historical district in Laurelton, which will soon become the only one designated in southeast Queens.
