Interested citizens of the Town of Mountain View, Colorado, have joined together for the
purpose of reviving our town into a place that is both safe and attractive to both current
residents and potential residents and businesses. Our intent is that all action taken in
order to resolve adverse circumstances be performed in a way that reflects careful
thought, legal fairness and integrity.
We the citizens of Mountain View are concerned about the development of what appears to be a mobile home court in the vicinity of 44th Ave. along Sheridan Blvd. These mobile homes are dilapidated relics. The area is littered with wrecked automobiles, hundreds of 50 gallon drums, an old school bus, broken down machinery, a race track abandoned in 1988 with it's fallen down fences and grandstand contribute to an unbelievable eyesore. The area is known as Lakeside which calls itself a city. It seems Lakeside does not have to abide by any zoning or building codes that other metropolitian areas adhere too, concsequently this is contributing to a decline in home values and busineess in the area.
Lakeside Park itself brings back wonderful memories of a thriving amusement park. If one can remember the old fun house with the laughing lady, the El Patio Ballroom where big bands of the era played the chriscraft motor boats on the Lake Rhoda, and many other amusements.
Lakeside Park is still a place for family fun. All we citizens ask of Lakeside owners is a working relationship to improve the aforementioned along 44th Ave. Let's all contribute for the greater goal of beautifying the surrounding areas.
