October 2, 2004 Meeting Report
?• Coffee, breakfast, and neighborly fellowship was enjoyed prior to the meeting and members shared announcements and information about ?“What?’s Happening?” in our city.
?• President Danny Noyola called the October 2, 2004 meeting to order.
?• CCBA member Abel Herrero moved to dispense with the regular order of business to conduct the Block Captains Trainer/ Facilitator Training Session One and CCBA member Baudelio Ramirez seconded that motion. The motion carried unanimously.
?• The Training was facilitated by President Danny Noyola. Sign-In total was 45 members/ guests.
*** A special thanks to all our members and the Moody Civic Minded Students who were trained!!! A huge abrazo/ hug goes out to Ruben Almeida, owner of Taqueria Almeida #2 Restaurant at Airline and Holly Rd. for his gracious hospitality and support to the Corpus Christi Barrios Association!!!
Upcoming October 16, 2004 Meeting
Please Attend the CC Barrios October 16, 2004 Meeting at Taqueria El Reparo Restaurant (1945 Horne Rd. and Prescott) starting at 9:00 a.m. with coffee, breakfast, and neighborly fellowship and gaveled to order at about 9:15 a.m. Thanks to El Reparo owner, Jose Flores and family.
This Meeting is going to be devoted to the Block Captains Trainer/ Facilitator Training Session Two: Block Captains Duties and Responsibilities.

Block Captain Duties
PURPOSE
?“The purpose of this Association shall be to provide a forum and
voice for the Community, and to protect and promote the mutual
interests and welfare of the residents of Corpus Christi Barrios/
Neighborhoods.?”... CCBA CONSTITUTION
BLOCK CAPTAIN DUTIES
?• Serve as the contact or liaison for his/her neighbors and the Association and/or other decision-making groups
?• Survey the block neighbors on their concerns, needs, and improvements
?• Recruit Association new members and block captains
?• Distribute informational flyers, notices, etc. to the block neighbors
?• Advocate for neighborhood improvements, Association
goals, objectives, Get Out The Vote (GOTV), etc.
