From what I have heard, I think you are being disingenuous about the results of the hearing. The hearing went great - but not for you. Broomfield got just about everything they wanted. With the way your petition is going to have to read now, they probably could care less what you do from this point.
You have had posts on hear before about Broomfield people "having knots in their shorts." At the hearing, they took it to you big time. And, you know it.

A jail 11/2 miles away from Country Side is not close to Country Side or to anyone else. The site proved to be the best site for the jail. Why should Broomfield put its jail at some other location? Just because some people have irrational fears about jails and have nothing to back up those fears.
How much more money should Broomfield citizens have to pay because of irrational fears? You have no basis for your concerns other than your preconceived notions. When facts are presented, you dismiss them as biased or as just statistics. When I asked you to let me know about the national studies you have read that you said backed up your views, you post no response. You just ask more questions. I don't mind trying to respond to your questions,Cheryl, but I believe that you will not accept the truth about county jails. If you don't believe the information Broomfield presented, ask other police chiefs and county sheriff about county jails. See what they have to say. Ask people who live very close to county jails. See what they have to say. A county jail is just not that big a deal. You state all of your notions about county jails and expect everyone else to agree with them. With all due respect, I do not.
