Mission Statement:

Del Mar Neighborhoods United considers it's community as a place in the hearts and in the hopes of those who live here and is dedicated to fostering a safe and vital community where people live, work and raise families. Inclusive in this, DMNU also believes that in order for a community to be strong, its has to recognize and value all its members.

Communities are about connections and commitments and that’s why DMNU is also committed to programs that bring tolerance, inclusion and value to people of all backgrounds regardless of ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, age or physical challenges. Overall, DMNU seeks to cooperatively embrace, widen, and enhance, the common good of its residents via mutual cooperation.

Background

The Del Mar Parkway Neighborhood Association, hereinafter, Del Mar, came into existence, with amended and approved By-Laws, during May, 1981. Del Mar has continued to be ruled by those By-Laws, amended and approved on January 1, 1992. During August, 2004, Del Mar, received its employer identification number (EIN) from the Internal Revenue Service.  Del Mar submitted an Application for Recognition of Exemption Under Section 501(a) on 12/31/2009.  DMNU last updated by-laws July 16, 2018.

General Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday on the month, January thru May and August thru November. At each General Meeting it normally has a speaker from a local and/or State agency that could impact its immediate neighborhood specifically or the area in general. Del Mar attempts to cover a wide range of useful topics like the Home Weatherization Program, Gardening, Code Enforcement, Water, etc.

At the October general meeting each year, DMNU usually has a "Pot Luck" where all candidates seeking a governmental office are invited to speak to the membership.

All meetings are bi-lingual, with Spanish interpreters available for those that require their services and the majority of its flyers are also bi-lingual, English and Spanish.

Additionally, Del Mar strongly supports our "Neighborhood Watch" Program.
