Association Election Held

Hello neighbors!! Welcome to our first Denniston Park newsletter!!
On June 27th, we held our yearly officer elections. I was elected President, Dorothy Antwine was re-elected Vice President, Sarah Rucker was re-elected Secretary, Walter Shields was elected Treasurer, Nancy Lange was elected Co-Secretary and Charles de Coune was elected Co-Treasurer. We heard from many neighbors over the last year, that they would like to have more park events and less frequent monthly meetings. Thus, the Executive Committee has planned 3 park events for the upcoming year and 4 neighborhood association meetings.
We have started new committees which include a Park Committee, Newsletter Committee, I-44 Sound Barrier Committee, Traffic Committee, Block Captain/Welcome Committee and Fundraising/Party Committee which includes our Can Recycle Program. If you see a committee that interests you, please email or phone us and we will include you on the committee meeting list. Most of our neighborhood work will be done within our committees. This will help us to keep association meetings to a maximum of an hour long.
We have many exciting projects happening in the neighborhood including recently adopting Denniston Park for regular litter clean up and beautification projects to starting a new quarterly newsletter and website. It should be a busy and fun year in the neighborhood. Hope to see you soon!!
