LOGO CONTEST WINNER
Emily Bibler and the DMHS Logo she designed.
Emily Bibler was announced as the winner of the DMHS Logo contest at the October 28, 2010 meeting.
We believe she has designed an excellent logo that will represent the DMHS very well.
Briefly, in a stylized manner set in a skyline to indicate a city, the logo includes two merging rivers as the foundation for the location of Des Moines, four buildings representing the governmental agencies historically present, and a diamond shape to suggest the four directions in our unified city.

THE DMHS GETS INVOLVED!
Recently, the DMHS has been before the public by decorating a tree for the Festival of Trees and Lights, and the President, Pat Meiners, was interviewed by Andy Fales and Aaron Brilbeck for the evening news on WHO-TV 13. One interview was about General Crocker, Captain Fleur and Wesley Redhead, and in the other she was asked about DM in the 1920s in regard to a ‘Cold Case’ murder from 1922 that happened near the location of the current Broadlawns Hospital. (Links to the videos are on our website and Facebook page.) In October, Pat conducted an historical bus tour for the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute Class of 2010. In October, Board Member Natasha Moore represented the DMHS at the Iowa Museum Association Annual Meeting in Grinnell.
