Hello Neighbors

Jul 13, 2008

Hello neighbors !

It is that time of year already when we start thinking about going back to school. Again this year Ward 4 and Councilwoman Shirley Scott will be sponsoring The Ward 4 Back to School Bash. It will be from 7:00 am until 12:00 noon on the 9th of August 2008 at the Clements Center, 8123 E Poinciana. This is just South of Santa Rita High School off of Pantano. Included in the festivities will be: Free Breakfast, each child will get a voucher for a free Backpack, drawings for door prizes and free swimming all day at the pool. There will also be all kinds of Displays set up around the center.

School starts on August 11th this year, so be looking for school zones, additionally the Tucson Police Photo Radar Van will be concentrated in the schools zones this coming year. You can go on line to see where it will be deployed on each day. Fines have been doubled for school zone violations and will be strictly enforced as soon as they get all the information posted on each sign.

On the sadder side of life in our neighborhood, the month of May 2008 was not a very safe one. There were two auto accidents on 29th street between Prudence and Kolb road (in one week), and one on Calle Marquez and Calle Lugo. These accidents were all a result of Speed and Alcohol. Even though these accidents happened in the early morning hours they could have happened when our kids were out playing during the day time. If you see any one speeding or driving crazy report it to 911.

I hope to see you all at our next meeting on July 17th at 7pm Tucson Meadows MHP Club House.
