Annual Meeting: Dodge/Flower Neighborhood Assn
May 24th 2005

Meeting called to order by President Barbara Lehmann at 6:45P.M. in the SAMHC MPR. Those present introduced themselves.

The Neighborhood Reinvestment proposal was discussed. A staff person who is helping the neighborhood facilitate the process was present. The proposal would include curbs, sidewalks and lights.
Estimated costs: $125,000 for sidewalks and curbs; $5,000 each for lights with conduits in place; $9,000 each for lights without conduit in place

Stress factors of the neighborhood such as socioeconomic status, high number of rentals, crime and drug houses were listed as factors in submitting the proposal.

A fence is being built in front of Compass. Ed Alexander, Executive Director of the detox center reported that their policy is to transport people out of the neighborhood when they show up and don't want or won't accept services. Call Ed at 618-8734 if anyone has a problem with someone who is near Compass and appears to be intoxicated.
