The City of Druid Hills was incorporated in 1950 as a sixth class city within Jefferson County, Kentucky. The merger of the City of Louisville and Jefferson County two years ago did not affect how we govern.
The purpose of the 6th Class City of Druid Hills is to act as a common focus for its citizens in dealing with external agencies such as the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Louisville Metro, or neighboring small cities, as well as with service agencies such as public utilities and sanitation disposal.
The residents of the City of Druid Hills are represented by an elected board of four Commissioners and an elected Mayor. The Commissioners serve a two year term while the Mayor serves a four year term. The city also has an appointed staff consisting of a City Clerk, a City Attorney, a City Treasurer, and an Ethics Officer.
The City of Druid Hills...working to make a livable, friendly community where a natural and safe environment is maintained.
The City Commissioners, along with the Mayor, City Clerk, City Attorney, and City Treasurer meet at 7:00PM the second Monday of each month. The meetings are held in the Family Life Center of the Broadway Baptist at 4000 Brownsboro Road.
Citizens are welcome to come to these meetings to discuss concerns that they may have. Should you desire to be included in one of these meetings, contact Caroline Westfall @ 895-9168 in advance so that you can be placed on the meeting's agenda.
