UPDATE : A letter from the Founder

June 21,2004 WE have made many steps forward, our monthly, attendance has improved we have begun working with the Elliston Avenue area neighborhood watch,and our vacant house situation is improving slightly. We are currently planning a block party in august.




Hello, my name is Jerry Bobbitt Jr. A group of neighbors and myself got together in 2001 and started what is now called the Dunn Avenue Area Neighborhood Association and watch. We hoped and still do to continuously lower crime, improve neighbor relations, possibly revitalize neighborhood business(specifically Getwell Rd.)and generally improve the condition and atmosphere of our area. We have made gradual steps forward in some areas. ex. some neighbors are getting along better and some neighbors have begun watching out for each other. But,over the last 3-6 months we have backslidden with our meetings and various other things. But we can recover and improve our neighborhood again. But we need YOU!!! Please watch for our bi-monthly flyers on your doors. These will contain meeting dates and other important information.

We need your help!!!

We have various vollunteer opurtunities open right now. They include block captains, committee members, and many other positions. Some are continuous some are one-time only.

Please take part in some way

We understand that many of you cant pass out fliers or even attend a meeting regularly. You say well I cant really do anything. I say your Wrong. You can Say hello to your neighbor in the morning. or maybe you can simply wave to someone you dont know. You can always watch out for crime and report it to the Police.

About our association

What were doing and What we are here for.

We are a group of citizens who meet monthly to learn more about each other, local crime waves and prevention, and to improve our area in any way possible. We need your help! feel free to come to our meetings or email or call your neighborhood leader.

Information and food for thought

We are not an association or a business, we do not reccomend or charge dues. We are a group of neighbors who care about our homes and our neighborhoods. We strive to improve the neighborhood by helping each other.
As our neighborhood changes, we need to accept some often given advice, Love your neighbor. Always remember that before you react or act upon any problem that may occur. This is not a rule that you have to accept, it is a matter of will. Although, your life could be happier if it was given a try more often.
