Community Building in East Ballard

Wondering what is happening in our part of town and beyond? Interested in the participating as a caring citizen? You have come to the right place! Our purpose is to gather and inform each other about actions and issues in our community, develop programs to help build our neighborhood, participate in councils and advisory groups that impact our part of town and value everyone's assets and resources so that we all can contribute to sustaining our community.

A Brief History of Action in our Neighborhood

The East Ballard Community Association has been actively involved in issues about local developments such as Fred Meyer and Safeway, Industrial Area rezoning, the Burke-Gilman Trail, housing development, creating green streets and avenues by planting trees, traffic calming with medians, traffic circles and signals, Park improvements, Neighborhood Planning and Project Implementation.

With a seat on the Ballard District Council, Neighborhood Planning Committee, Ballard Municpal Center Steering Committee and others we have had a voice in the greater Ballard growth.

To the Future and Beyond

To reinvigorate our association, we need volunteers to help us sustain a sense of community by becoming members, participating in projects and representing our interests on local and city wide committees.

By using our Web Site we hope to spread the word about the issues that concern us all and organize to deal with challenges in the future.
