Attending: M. Plummer, J. White, T. Sewell-Crumpler, G. Whiteside, M. Winn, R. White, D. Johannes, C. Edwards

The meeting was called to order at 7:15 pm. A motion to accept the minutes of the July 12, 2006 meeting was made by Mike Plummer and seconded by Deb Johannes. In the absence of Laurie Cozens the meeting was facilitated by Tia Sewell-Crumpler..

Treasurer?’s Report
August 16, 2006 FKCA treasurer report was circulated for review and all related financial records were given to Gil Whiteside, treasurer. Payment for 16 new membership was given to Gil for deposit. Signature cards for all accounts need to be finalized. Checks were disbursed to 1) M. Winn for reimbursement of copying expenses 2) M.Quinn for grass cutting 3) J. White for reimbursement for dues envelope supplies A motion to accept the treasurer report was made by Mike Plummer and seconded by Michele Winn..

Old Business
Membership Drive/Dues Collection ?– As of August 16, 2006 total paid membership now stands at 27. Gil Whiteside needs envelopes to disburse on his street. 7 envelopes were turned in from Deb Johannes for Kings Bridge Ct; 1 envelope was turned in from Mike Plummer for Greenwich and 8 envelopes were turned in from Michele Winn for Gloucester. We still need street reps for Tarcote and Orangeburg.

Community Clean Up ?– The clean up day held on July 15, 2006 did not have a good turn out. Michele Winn and John White tackled the overgrown brush on Concord while Deb Johannes and Gina White pulled weeds and put flowers in the sign box. There is still work to be done. The overgrown trees on Wellington need to be trimmed back. John White volunteered to handle this task.

Family Picnic ?– The date for the FKCA family picnic is tentatively scheduled for September 23, 2006 @ 1pm unless otherwise reported by Michele Winn. The organizing committee for this event which consists of Gil Whiteside, Karen Moran, Stacie Chisholm and Michele Winn had their preliminary meeting. We will have a fire truck, Funtastic air slide, and hopefully police identification kits for the children. Bob Quinn will be contacted to see about getting water ice for this event and John White will help out with the food shopping. Stacie Chisholm will be doing a flyer announcing this event.

Newsletter/Personal Ads ?– The FKCA newsletter will be distributed the first week of September. The deadline for submission of articles and ads to appear in this issue is September 1st. All information should be given to Michele Winn. You may email her with this information. Watch out for a new email address for Michele.

Halloween Parade ?– The FKCA Halloween parade and festivities are tentatively scheduled for Saturday October 28, 2006 @ 1pm. There will be further discussion on this topic at the September meeting.

Cozens?’ donation ?– An acknowledgment of the tragic passing of Laurie and Earl Cozens?’ daughter and grandson was made. It was agreed that a donation from FKCA would be made to the Bruzik Family Memorial Fund held at Commerce Bank. Gil Whiteside will handle this transaction. Gina White read and circulated a flyer announcing a benefit party for the Bruzik Family to be held on Saturday August 26, 2006.

New Business
Carolyn Edwards from Bristol Ct., acknowledged and thanks the residents of Orangeburg who provided assistance with their yard fire.

There was a discussion on the street lights that are out in our community. Mike Plummer will fax the list to Gil Whiteside who will handle contacting Delmarva to get the needed repairs

Mike Plummer will coordinate setting up the snow plowing contract for this coming winter.

The September FKCA meeting will be held on Tuesday September 5, 2006 at 7 pm in the Bear Library.
