Foster-Powell Neighborhood Association

September 2001 Newsletter

Sep 28, 2001

Dziva Marimba played music in Kern park celebrating National Night Out on Tuesday August 7th. Over 100 neighbors came together to enjoy some music, meet other neighbors, and access community resource information. The music in the park party was a huge success in bringing people together. This is definitely an event we will have again next summer!

A newsletter collaboration is currently underway between the Creston-Kenilworth, Mt.Scott Arleta, and Foster Powell Neighborhoods that comprise the Foster Target Area. Our goal is to publish a newsletter quarterly to inform neighbors of events, projects, and community resource information that you won?’t find anyplace else. The first issue will out the end of September.

The next neighborhood association meeting is Tuesday September 4th at 7pm. Meetings typically run until 830pm. This month we will be talking about a fall neighborhood project, the Southeast Uplift Healthy Neighborhoods program, and current neighborhood issues. We will also be discussing the results of a neighborhood survey handed out at our National Night out event. All residents of the Foster Powell neighborhood are invited to join our meeting.

Meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month at St. Anthony?’s church at 3600 SE 76th Ave. in the community room. If you have any questions or would like more information, please call Kathleen Gagnon-Witter at 503-788-7041.
