Reporting Destructive Behaviour
Over the Memorial Day Weekend, a neighbor told me about seeing a teenager throwing glass bottles in the air and watching them break in the alley between High Country and Tanglewood near the beginning of the Malone entrance. The result had been that there was glass scattered around that area of the alley.
I think this sort of behaviour should always be addressed by confronting the young person involved and discussing it with their parents or just by simply calling the Allen police department's non-emergency number. If someone sees this sort of behaviour and doesn't want to deal with a personal confrontation, a call to the police with pertinent information really needs to happen. The police could knock on some doors and perhaps get to the bottom of who was doing this destructive behaviour. More importantly, they could make the responsible parents aware of what their child is doing.
Reporting something to the police could be uncomfortable but living with an unrully child in your neighborhood who does dangerous behaviour could lead to much more than an uncomfortable moment. Parents can do little to address a problem if their not aware that there is one.
