Upcoming Events at the Evelyn Moore
Community Center
The Evelyn Moore Multicultural Day will be held May 20, 2006 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Evelyn Moore Community Center. Bring your family for Fun, Food and Games.
Organizational Class is planned for March 4, 2006. Whether you're preparing for the annual Spring cleaning ritual, getting ready to downsize, or just want to reduce the stress and frustration associated with all the clutter in your home, office and garage, you can learn the skills that professional organizers use on March 4 at the Evelyn Moore Community Center. Susan Farrar of Clear Spaces Organizing is offering a class from 1 - 3 PM on March 4 to share basic organizing tips and techniques that can take you from overwhelmed to organized. The class is free and refreshments will be served. Susan will also have a drawing for a free 1-hour organizing consultation. The whole family is invited to this fun and informative Saturday afternoon class.
Neighborhood News
FROM is currently working with Sacramento New Technology High School, (SNTHS) to obtain funding for a n exercise course, installed on the property between the Evelyn Moore Community Center and the SNTHS. The exercise course would consist of a quarter mile track with ten exercise stations. There will be resting benches and drinking fountains near the track. This exercise course will be used by the high school during school hours and may be used by the neighborhood after school evening and weekends. More information will be available at the Evelyn Moore Multicultural Day celebrations.
The Community Needs Your Help
In recent months our community has had some violent incidences occur. As many of you are aware, last summer we have had two shooting incidences on Dickson Street and one deadly shooting in December at 38th Ave and McLaren Ave. We as a community need to band together and assist law enforcement in dealing with the violence. Your attendance at the monthly meetings would help in this effort by allowing us enough participation to get law enforcement and the community together
Neighborhood Watch
We would like to know how many people in our community would like to start a Neighborhood Watch in your area. We need to have participation from the community.
If you are interested in starting a neighborhood watch please contact Helen Freeny at 427-3762 or Donnell Steggal at
424-4215.
Spring Rummage Sale
We would like to have a Rummage sale in April or May at Belle Cooledge. We need to know how many people in our community would like to rent a table for $25.00 at this event. Please contact Helen Freeny at 427-3762 or Donnell Steggal 424-4215 if you would be interested.
