The association was formed in 1989, and is an association of members who reside or do business in the area bounded by Freeport Blvd., Belleau Wood Lane, 47th Ave and 35th Ave. We elect officers who will meet with the members the second Tuesday of each month, with the exception of the Summer months of June, July, and August, at 6:30 p.m. in the Evelyn Moore Community Center.
Membership dues are $10.00 per person each year.
The association is a 501(c)(3) non profit public benefit corporation, and is 100% volunteer-based. Membership dues are tax deductible.
We represent our members to city and county governments and other area agencies and work with other neighborhood associations on issues that affect our residents and businesses.
We provide a forum for discussion of neighborhood concerns and monitor local government programs or decisions that affect our neighborhood.
We keep members informed on neighborhood issues and were instrumental in obtaining improvements to the neighborhood such as:
a. Storm Drains
b. Side Walk Repairs
c. Street Lights
d. Speed Bumps
In addition the association organizes many functions such as:
• National Night Out
• Fish Fry
• Soul Food Dinner
• Evelyn Moore Day
• Thanksgiving Dinner
• Christmas Party for the children
• Neighborhood Community Yard Sales
