About Our Club
Friends of Brook Park
Who we are:
Friends of Brook Park is a coalition of residents, parents, educators, workers, home and business owners and community based organizations dedicated to managing and revitalizing an important and unique open green space. We are at an exciting juncture in the redesign of an asphalt portion of the Park?… and you can be involved!
What We Do:
Our community gardening Eat Well, Play Hard partnership with United Way provides organic vegetables to the needy.
We cultivate the Earth and introduce youth and adults to indigenous teachings.
We host Labyrinth walks, art and dance workshops and a summer film series.
We are linked with local schools and literacy projects and practice ecological pest management with beneficial insect releases.
We build multi-cultural bridges
and have welcomed new arrivals from Mexico and the Caribbean Islands to our community. We have hosted visitors from Russia, Colombia, Chile, Japan, Sweden, Scotland, South Africa, Arizona, California, Greece, the Carolinas and elsewhere.
