Thank you again for the post Melissa!  I have seen folks before keeping the fish they caught but I have always been told that you never want to eat those fish!  My son and neighbors catch and release as well.   I do hope that we are allowed to continue using the pond too!

Been gone awhile and have been catching up on my reading here. HMMM.

The River Trails Homeowners Association has an informal agreement with Mr. Newell that allows the residents of the River Trails neighborhood to use the lake facilities. These privileges can be revoked at any time if they are abused or if they change their mind. So, please be mindful of others and respect the area.

Where in this quoted text from RTHA does it state that you must be a member of their little society to use any of the park or lake facilities ?!?!?!?!?!??!?!

Lots of really good points made - Nice to see some true support for the "NEIGHBORHOOD" and being friends with our "NEIGHBORS"!!!!!!

This evening RTHA board members met with board members from South Lakes of River Trails. We specifically asked about the use of the lake area. They are going back to their members for input and will let us know what the outcome is. They could not give us a definite time line for that response. We will update the board as soon as we have a decision.

Because of the repeated question on this chat board, we met with some of the members of the Lakes of River Trails board. This is their response:

"We are finally getting back with you concerning your request for your Neighborhood Association to utilize facilities of the Lakes of River Trails.  Our original plan was to present your request at the next HOA meeting.  However, one of our board members pointed out that there is a stipulation in our insurance policy that prohibits non members from using the facilities.  So, I guess this is a mute point.  The exact verbiage in our insurance policy is:

"Applicant (HOA) does not allow non-association members to use recreational facilities and memberships are not sold to the general public."

We will still bring this subject up at the next meeting to get an idea on how everyone feels on this request.  But unless we get the insurance people to change the policy at no additional charge and approval by two thirds of the HOA, our hands are tied. The exact date has not been set, but we think that it will be sometime in August or September."
