Muscatine's Great River Tennis Association is a non-profit, volunteer organization that promotes the sport of tennis for players of all ages. Our primary emphasis is the development and mentoring of our youth players throughout the city.

The mission of the GRTA Junior tennis program is to:

Provide quality and affordable opportunities for Muscatine’s young tennis players to learn the game and develop their skills and athleticism, while instilling in them the values of sportsmanship and friendly competition.


Objectives and Measurements of the Program’s Success
1. Visibly improved performance and depth in both the boy’s and girl’s high school teams. Overall rankings and reputation as one of the top tennis high schools in eastern Iowa.
2. Increased number of junior high players participating in the programs.
3. Increased participation of young players from all over the city.
4. Production of 1 to 2 top-ranked-in-the-state players within the next five years.
5. Participation in the Muscatine summer tennis camp by at least 15 players this year and more in following summers.
6. Overall growth in participation and visible enjoyment by those students participating on a year round basis.
