Crime Prevention & Safety

If properly organized and actively supported, neighborhood blockwatches are a proven means of reducing burglary and other typical street crimes. If you are a Hilltop resident who is concerned about crime bring committed or safety issues, including domestic violence, in your neighborhood and want to begin a blockwatch, contact our office for assistance.

Code Violations

Neglected property degrades our neighborhoods. Whether it is occupied or unoccupied housing or vacant lots, a responsible party's failure to perform routine maintenance acts to diminish the appearance of our neighborhoods. Left unchecked, such neglect can result in blight, a disease that makes it more difficult to turn a neighborhood around. Report code violations to our office or call the city at 645-7260 with the address of the property available.

Hilltop Connection

Over 6000 homes in the Hilltop do not receive home delivery of community newspapers. They miss out on important neighborhood information for goods and services available to them. The GHRC prints and delivers a monthly newspaper to bridge this gap in information. If you would like to receive the Hilltop Connection or if you appreciate the information you gain from it, please let us know. We welcome information, corrections, and guest columnists as well.
